The Project

Tadman Planning Consultants have now been instructed by the Hanham District Green Belt Conservation Society on a number of occasions to object to an application for planning permission for residential development of up to 140 dwellings on the edge of Hanham. The site is within the Green Belt, adjacent to Ancient Woodland and is also a valuable nature and biodiversity asset and a comprehensive and well researched objection was submitted to South Glos Council in June 2023 and, following the submission of revised information, in March 2024.

Furthermore, following the publication of the South Glos Local Plan Phase 3 document for consultation, an objection to the inclusion of the above development site, plus two other adjacent sites, also within the Green Belt, in the Local Plan. A comprehensive objection was submitted in February 2024 which highlighted, among other issues, that the Local Plan did not take into account changes within the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) published in December 2023 affecting the removal of land from the Green Belt via the Local Plan process. It was also argued that all 3 sites should remain within the Green Belt and should not be allocated for residential development.

Review of Client:

“We’d like to say a big thank you for the assistance you have provided to us regarding the planning application at The Batch in Hanham, which we oppose. From our first enquiry, you have been very approachable and responsive. We are so pleased that we opted to ask you to write the objection on our behalf. The finished objection is excellent and met our requirements completely.”
