Planning Appeals
- Ask our experts
Planning applications can be refused for a number of reasons – even when a well-prepared application has been submitted. If this happens, we can expertly guide you through the appeals process.
If you have been unlucky and your planning application has been refused by the Local Planning Authority you may wish to challenge the Council’s decision by appealing to the Planning Inspectorate. You usually have six months within which to make your appeal.
At Tadman Planning Consultants we have an extensive level of experience on how the appeal system works. Rachel’s experience of working in Local Government planning departments means we know how the decision makers think and how to challenge their decisions through the appeal process. We are therefore in an excellent position to identify weaknesses in the Council’s case and put together a strong case to the Planning Inspectorate to argue that planning permission should be granted.
We will carry out a comprehensive appraisal of the refused scheme and provide you with some expert advice on the best approach to resolve the reasons for refusal. This may be to revise the scheme and re-submit to the Council for further consideration if the issues can be easily resolved or it maybe that an appeal is necessary. We will provide honest advice on the likelihood of success at appeal so that you are fully informed.
If you decide that an appeal is the best way forward, we can manage the whole appeal process from start to finish. Rachel is experienced in dealing with appeals in all formats and has acted on countless occasions as an expert witness both at Hearings and at Public Inquiry.
