The Project

We were very pleased to work with Pepperdrum Stables in Somerset to gain planning permission for a permanent equine / rural worker dwelling at their equine yard in Somerset.

The site was bought in 2021 as a run down equine yard with grooms accommodation and a temporary dwelling. The owners have invested heavily in the site renovating all of the existing stables plus installing a water treadmill, lunge pen, re-surfacing the outdoor arena and re-fencing all the paddocks.

A comprehensive case for a permanent two storey equine / rural worker dwelling was submitted to Somerset Council to demonstrate a viable business and a functional need for a permanent on site presence for the welfare of the horses. Planning permission was granted in September 2024.
